Classroom Success for ADHD Kids
When my son was in elementary school, I started a moms’ support group for moms of ADHD kids. I really needed to talk to other moms about everything I was trying to figure out after the diagnosis. The group expanded by word of mouth, and pretty soon we had about 60 moms who wanted to be part of the group. This was just a few months after we started, so the need was clearly there.
Fast-forward over twelve years later and now we’re a parent support group with over 2600 members in our local area. We do a lot to support our community with webinars, a Facebook group, and large in-person gatherings we call parent summits. While preparing for a parent summit meeting this weekend, I came across something I wrote for our small group back in 2014. I polled all the moms and asked them to tell me what was going well in our schools for our ADHD kids. There was such good feedback that I wrote it all up in a document and passed it out to the staff at our elementary school. As I read through this document, it is still so helpful today. I hope you find it as useful as we did ten years ago.
